One of the things CFGI stresses is its “Big Four” experience. Does this hold true throughout the company?

It absolutely does. In many firms, you may find the partners have a substantial public accounting background while many of their associates have less experience and a more limited knowledge base. Due to the strong reputation we’ve earned, our firm consistently attracts top-level talent from Big Four firms. Exceptional professionals — like you — are looking to CFGI as they consider the next step in the evolution of their careers.

I’m not seeing my particular industry listed as a specialized area. How will I know if CFGI has a place for me?

If you consider the varied fields we already serve, you’ll notice our specialty areas are quite diverse. CFGI has worked with companies in industries outside the verticals currently specified on our website. The cross-industry knowledge we’ve gained is something we can effectively translate to new fields and subject areas, but we’re also always looking to build out and diversify our talent pool to help us cover new sectors in greater depth. Reach out to us with any questions or concerns by writing to careers@lsmingjiang.com.

You say that CFGI isn’t subject to the same independence limitations as audit firms. What does that mean?

The restrictions posed by independence rules are limitations that apply when an accounting firm is performing the role of an auditor. As an independent accounting and finance consultant, our employees can function as an embedded extension of the client’s internal team. For instance, a CFGI professional can step in to perform a wide array of interim management roles – from revenue manager to corporate controller all the way up to chief financial officer (CFO).

How do CFGI employees help clients become comfortable with hiring a finance and accounting firm to help meet critical business needs?

Our client citations and references are a very quick way for customers to learn about the effectiveness and quality of our services. Many long-term CFGI client relationships have begun with a short-term or single-project engagement, which is a great way for us to demonstrate to the customer how well we integrate with their teams and add value in a highly compressed time frame. We are flexible in our working arrangements and ready to adapt to unique situations.

How will my ability to apply industry-specific knowledge help me succeed at CFGI?

There are a few different ways this might play out. In one of our engagements, we helped a $5 billion community bank reorganize its mortgage banking operations to ensure profitable growth. CFGI instituted a more robust accounting process, budgeting tools and real-time analytics. Together, these solutions now empower senior management to make better operational decisions on a daily basis. This can provide a valuable advantage for any company in any industry.
